Eat, Pray, Love
After being on hiatus for almost a whole year, I'm back! Hopefully, this blog will be updated more in the upcoming future.
So, my next pick is Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, a book that took me pretty much all of my first semester of college to read. It was definitely worth it and kind of fitting for the whole adjusting to a new life situation.
Anyways, on to the review.
This book was amazing! If I were ever to write a book, this would exactly the type of book I would write. Gilbert is truly a gifted writer-- she quickly pulls you into the story, even when the plot is so loose and unstable (beginning: as in, I kind of wasn't sure where the whole thing was going or what her point was). The whole novel was like reading a person's blog for a year.
At times, I could tell the narrative was pretty biased, but what can you do? It is, after all, an autobiography. Gilbert captures human emotion and experience in a way that I didn't even think was possible. She describes spiritual experiences with clarity and intensity, making readers feel as if they were experiencing it themselves. Her journey is real, and her character is witty/quirky. Overall, this was a really fun and inspiring read. It will make you want to travel around and discover your inner self.
